Hi. I saw my surgeon on 28th who advised really good results on scans after 5 weeks chemoradiotherapy. He advised he will complete another colonoscopy and depending on this may not need operation but every 3 months would require a colonoscopy and scans for the next v2 years or opt to have operation. In a quandary what to do.

Pez2 a great result but understandable that it brings a lot of difficult decisions. I have linked in a thread you might find helpful having a chat with the poster .
Take care ,

Hi I had to make this decision I went for the op
For my own person reason as I didn’t want the uncertainty of 3 monthly scans and all that comes with it
sat down with my surgeon mr William speake at the Derby royal hospital and went through the procedure and the results was have op and thankfully I’m 29 months cancer free so far
which ever you decide it’s your choice and I’m sure you will do what’s best for you
all the best andy
Hi.first of all I wish you and your wife all the best for the future
I had my total colectomy with permanent stoma 2 yrs ago.I often play a game"guess who has a:stoma" and guess what you cant tell.considering how many people have one and just get on with their life.so please tell your wife it really isnt that bad.I wear what I wore before, eat most things(well maybe not sweetcorn)and do everything I did before. In fact I am able to do more,as I previously had colitis and was always rushing to the loo.None if that anymore.
Before my op I was given stoma bags to try out and its well worth it for your confidence.no one noticed.
