My history: (I was in this form in 2018 but can't find my log in!)
2018 - Bladder Cancer - 2 x TURBT - multiple tumours removed - one year BCG treatment.
Series of clear cystoscopys for just under 5 years.
Oct 23 - reduced kidney function identified/ultrasound/CT scan - kidney not emptying
Dec 23 - Cystoscopy to investigate blocked ureter tube, couldn't see ureter opening as bladder lining abnormal and thickened - TURBT to remove - awaiting biopsy. (kidney still blocked!)
So I've spent Christmas with post TURBT discomfort, Dr said high possibility that this is a recurrence, I'm terrified. I know I'll need another anaesthetic soon to sort out further stuff even if just for kidney.
40's Mum of 3, working and just too busy for this :-(
To add to this I had my hip and femur shattered by a horse Dec 2022, 11 days in hospital, all pinned but have non-union (bones not joining back together). Have been in pain and discomfort with this for the past year (next x-ray Feb 24) - I'm just exhausted and don't feel strong enough for cancer again.
Hi PurpleSparkle,I hope you got some sleep ? I feel for you, waiting is so stressful.Fingers crossed you will hear something soon.Love Jane xx
Do you have a Clinical Nurse Specialist? Mine is always my first go-to contact after hospital treatment if I have any concerns. I believe biopsy results take two weeks to come back so anytime now they could be discussing them at a multidisciplinary team meeting. Your nurse may be able to advise. We all hate the waiting game but hold your nerve and cross your fingers is all you can do. Sending hugs.Hx
Yes, just messaged her and she has replied (she really is very good!). A Urology appointment pending results has been booked for 16th January.
As you say, keep your nerves and soldier on - so I'm heading off on the school run to pick up my 7yr old in the rain!!
Thank you x
Well done PurpleSparkle, 11 days to get through. I totally understand your anxiety, we all do on this site. The waiting is the worst. xxx I have used a variety of distraction techniques, books, rubbish tv series and compensation strategies like baking cake, clearing out clutter etc. Anyway most important thing to focus on is the very many of us still trucking along years after our diagnosis. It's now 6 years for me. Just celebrated another Christmas I never thought I'd see with my 10 year old granddaughter. There are lots of treatments for BC, so keep positive. xxx
Crumbs!!! My CNS has just phoned to say my results are being discussed at MDM today and has offered me a 3:30pm appointment to go in to find out.
Meanwhile I'm at a different hospital this morning for physio on my broken leg - my head is in a spin!!!
C x
