Hi im new to this whole thing feel like im going through this alone but i can clearly see that im not. Mum was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April, it knocked me for 6 and my depression spiralled out of control that much i chose to give up work because i couldnt cope. Now 4 months on the docs have not sorted out any treatment for her, its just been scans, blood tests, biopsies. Shes been fine but now shes getting weak and in pain. Theyve offered her another scan on Friday, seems like no ones bothering with her atm...advice appreciated please
Hi Hollyoaks70 and a warm welcome to the Online Community, although I am sorry to see you finding us and so sorry to hear about your mum’s diagnosis.
A cancer diagnosis brings a lot of stress and confusion on all the family but from my 20 years cancer experience, talking with people who are on the same journey can help a lot and will reduce the whirlwind wind that is rushing in your head.
I see that you have found our Pancreatic cancer Forum. This is the best place to connect with people who understand the treatment journey your mum is on. You can ask the folks questions about tests, treatments and what to expect during the months ahead.
Follow the link above and go to the 'Start a Discussion' tab just under the main group name and set up your own Discussion and introduce yourself to the group - you could just copy an paste what you have in this first post.
We do have these forums where you can connect with others supporting family and friends through their cancer journey: Carers Forum and Friends and Family Forum
