Hi, I am newly diagnosed with Bowel Cancer, I have had my op, all seven and a half hours of it to remove a tumour (T4) that had grown through my bowel and attatched itself to my Duodenum, I can't have Chemo yet as I still have drains attatched but I am so concerned as its going to be weeks before that happens and I worry as to why the doctors haven't given me any meds to fight the cancer whilst I wait, if all that makes sense.

          Any ideas out there..?..

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the online community

Having a cancer diagnosis is a very stressful time and it's normal to worry that your treatment isn't progressing as quickly as you expect it to.

As I didn't have your type of cancer could I suggest that you join the bowel cancer group where you can ask questions and share experiences with others who have had a bowel cancer diagnosis.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then post a question or introduce yourself after selecting 'start a discussion' and respond to existing posts by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
