Hiya. This all started in Feb. Went drs as nails were not right n fingers were swollen n bad stomach ache. Had blood tests showed up something not right in liver. Had US scan showed a lesion, not sure what it was, had a ct scan said it was 10mm by 5mm. Dr said it could be a tumour or nothing. Now have an MRI on Weds. It's all the what ifs??? Not sleeping, depressed. How long does it take to get MRI results?

  • Hi  welcome to the Online Community, although I am so sorry to see you having to find us.

Any type of medical investigation brings a lot of stress and produces a whirlwind that is rushing in your head.

But it is important to get clear answers and an MRI will bring this to a conclusion and a plan can be made to move this forward.

MRI results take various lengths of time depending on what importance has been on the MRI request by your team and the availability of a Consultant Radiologist to review and report...... but you could be looking at a few weeks.

Thank you very much for your reply. As they have said it is urgent. Hopefully will be sooner rather than later and then deal with whatever it is!!
