Hi there.
I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and am starting chemo next week. I would appreciate any help with what to expect and what I should and shouldn't be doing before, during and after chemo?
So I'm HER2 positive so am having targeted drugs which are put into my leg and then I have chemo which are two lots of an hour. What are you having?
I'm having lots of side effects - forgetting things, hot face, rashes, feeling sick, tired and dizzy and digestive problems. Am just trying to tackle each thing as they happen so will help for cycle 2!!
Hope you're having a better day xxx
Wow in your leg that sounds awlful the chemo I’m having is E/C it actually looks like cherryade going into your body straight into a cannula , yes the side effects are probaly much the same as yours to be honest and I feel like I’m taking not so deep breaths for whatever reasons it’s a bit freaky , I’m eating better than I imagined I would just lil and often … days not been too bad done a few bits around the house but nothing much just sitting about how’s your energy .. Polly xx
Yes I think everything is really freaky, you notice everything don't you!! I'm pretty sure everything is normal side effects, but it does freak you out doesn't it!! I've been making notes of how I'm feeling each day so I can take it to my next cycle and they will probably give me stuff to help with the things next time I'm there!!
It's good to do things little and often along with eating ive been told!!
Take good care - do what you can when you can and don't feel guilty about it. Your body needs to get rid of the chemicals and doesn't really want to do much else, so just go with it and everyone will go with you xxx
Very wise words , I’m just not that great with doing that as I suffer with health anxiety and other mental health stuff , I had a stroke 4 years ago got myself back to work then been delt this my mind is just looking to much into the side effects feels like I’m going to go crazy … Polly xx
