Good Evening All,

I am new to the group. I have just started my Chemotherapy for Bowl Cancer which is Stage 4 and has spread to lungs, liver, skull. I am told that this is not curable, chemo is just to keep me going for few more months. I am given 9-12 months. I am trying to stay strong and positive but after going through really hard 3 years (2019 to 2021), I thought that this is start of new life after horrible divorce, failed s**uicide attempts. But just at start of this year, i am given this horrible news.

I am coping OK during day as I work from home and talk to people but in the evening it is just me and keep getting upset because these is no one to talk to, Kids are busy with their own lives.

Just want to talk to people and keep going.

Thanks

  • Hi TripleAce welcome to the group, but so sorry you find yourself here. This is the one group no one wants to join, but you will be glad that you have.  This is such a supportive group, I am sure you will have more people along soon.

As well as the online community, there are other ways that Macmillan can support you through this difficult time. There is a buddy service, where you can have a weekly telephone call from your buddy. You can sign up for the Buddy service HERE

You can also call the Macmillan support line 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm on 0808 808 00 00

Hope you find this group helpful. Always someone here to chat to x

  • Welcome to the forum, sorry you have a need to be here.
we are a rag tag bunch with multiple different reasons to be here but all facing the same destination.
If you have questions there’s usually someone that’s experienced similar and can help and we are always here on the days when you just want to rant

  • Hi TripleAce welcome to the group.as Chelle said lots of support on here , we've all in the same boat. As for times left there just estimates alot of us have gone passed our sell by dates. New treatments out there and trials.  Phone the support line. Keep posting and talking. The humour here is good as well. Hugs x

  • Hi and welcome!

I understand the hardest part for you atm is to be alone at night time and no one to talk to. So i'm glad you are here. As we are always here for a rant or cry or laugh. So please don't feel alone anymore. As we are from numerous country's there should all the time someone be on. Big hug Pet

  • Hi TripleAce,

Welcome to our group. I hope you find some comfort by being here. This group has certainly helped me through some difficult times. Just reading how others cope day 2 day and knowing that someone on here knows exactly how you're feeling.

    Keep going

  • Hi TripleAce

Sorry to have to welcome you to this group, as others have said it is a space to vent frustrations, just chat or even just read peoples posts.

From me for what it is worth look for things that can give small pleasures and wallow in them, one of mine is a large coffee first thing in the morning. I sit looking out the window watching the birdlife drinking freshly ground coffee, bliss.

Another is having a rant at the good morning presenters while watching early morning tv

    All the best

    Keith

  • Hi , welcome to the group - I hope you find some comfort here. I myself only recently joined and I love the humour here.

    Sorry Keith

Couldn't resist this - you have birds drinking freshly ground coffee?!!
