Hi, I had surgery only for oesophageal cancer in October 2016. In February this year I had a CT scan which showed 4 tiny tumours in the lymph nodes, 3 in the chest area and 1 on my left side near the main artery. They told me in April that it's terminal, not operable. Treatable but not curable. The follow up CT scans in April and July showed no growth. September I had a chest infection with violent coughing fits and it wasn't shifting so I finally got to see a practice nurse at my local surgery. They sent me for a chest x-ray and said it was clear and they had sent the results to the oncologist. They had emailed her after I saw the nurse initially and suggested that she brought forward my next CT scan. I got the results at an appointment with the oncologist on Wednesday. The coughing fits are being caused by a tumour between the gullet and windpipe. The tumour has grown slightly and is pressing on the windpipe. Chemotherapy not an option just now as I need to gain weight and strength ( I've lost about 2 stones since September). Anyway I need to go to bed now. Kind regards Frank.
