I was at a local gardenon Friday, where there re lots of benches dedicated to someone, with an inscription. One of my favorite plaques says something like "mother, grandmother, drama queen..." , and something else funny about the person being remembered. I have often thought what do I want on my plaque whether on a bench or by a tree, to amuse and remind those who know me of more than just my dates of birth and death.
Having given it some thought, it would be along the lines of:
"good enough mother, dog lover, rabid lefty till the end, intolerant of bigots, but mainly kind"
What's on yours?
Come on, there must be more of you to add to this thread. I want to be amused and moved by your thoughts about yourself. Or am I being too flippant?
Probaly accompanied by the song " poisoning pigeons in the park"
A it risky but on my headstone.
Friends I am resting
Under this stone
Cool, unprotesting,
Kingly, alone
Younger than sunshine,
Older than youth
Ugly as unashamed truth.
I blame you for any fallout OBS.
Hmmm i think mine would say...well now it's to late to visit me.
Not for a bench, but for my headstone
