Tumours have grown back, and more tumours have appeared in my liver so no more immunotherapy, back on chemotherapy starting Wednesday.  Not what I wanted to hear but I knew it would be the case - I was wheezing and then I got a horrible cough and this morning I coughed up blood.   The oncologist asked me how I am feeling and I told him honestly that I feel well, my chest is tight but its hard to know if that is asthma or cancer.  Hey ho - we are now on plan B.  I asked him if plan B doesn’t work is there a plan C - he said yes.

  • So sorry you’ve had such disappointing news MazLC. I’m glad you are feeling well and hope plan B works well for you. Good to know there is a plan C but hope it’s a long way down the road.

    Good luck on Wednesday.

    Take care.

  • Hi Maz,I'm sure although you sound upbeat, you must be so disappointed plan A has stopped working. It is great you have a plan B. How do you really feel about starting back on chemo? It is great you have that option but I hope we never hear what plan C is!

Good luck on Wednesday! Take care!

  • Oh

That's not what I wanted to hear either. You must have been so worried after coughing up blood. I hope you had someone beside you because that must have been a very frightening experience.

Good luck with the chemo on Wednesday, how often will you be having it? I hope it's not too hard on your body Maz. I'll be with you in spirit.

    Take care and stay safe

  • Hi Maz, thats a heavy blow for sure but as long as there are further plans there is time for other helpful developments. Xx

Hi Roy - my lovely sister was with me at the Oncologist- he calls her my secretary and asks if there is anything else she wants to know!  I sort of suspected it - I had a bout of wheezing a few weeks ago and then I got a cough then yesterday morning in the shower coughed up blood and again later on.  We weren’t nearly as shocked as when we were first told.  My poor kids though - my sister posted the bad news in the family whatsapp group, so they already knew when I spoke to them - it is easier that way, as they can process it first.

  • really sorry to hear that plan A has failed. You sound like me in that you switched to logic not emotion and asked if there’s was a plan C and as there is let’s get on with plan B. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that plan B does it’s thing and plan C can be kept in the cupboard just in case

    • Hey Annette - I’m fed up because my hair is going to fall out again and it is coming back so pretty at the moment.  Also not looking forward to chemo brain.  If it keeps me going for a bit longer then I will put up with it.    Silver lining - at least I get to use the wig my sister bought me!!  This is a different chemo, called CAV.  I read my info paper but can’t really tell you any more x
