Lovely Morning Chit Chat Thread - May 2026

Hi

Lovely to hear from you Fleabane! We had warm and sunny weather until this evening. Had nice BBQ with friends yesterday and ate dinner outside. Getting a bit fed up with medical appointments now as it has been constant since January. The QOL so far is so so since the surgery. 

A rather strange happened with Winston last night. He was asleep beside me on the sofa. He suddenly woke up and went mental and run, broke my vase, broke his nail etc en route. I don’t think he knows what he is doing. Not sure what caused it, hope is not some sort of seizure.

For those wondering about my weather... we are finally approaching true spring! Yay

what Winston was doing is called Frenetic Random Activity Period. Due to their extensive sleeping time during a 24 hour period they need to release build up energy. That is what triggers the sudden Irrational running around. Lilly gets her funny 5 minutes too sporadically . Not very beneficial for household goods but good for their little souls. How is everyone’s weekend? Craig and I have cleaned fridge and the two oven. How exiting! Some of my roses have blossomed and my peony is well. That has lifted my spirit. 

I have yet to heard from the lung consultant for my treatment and am going away on 15th of May. He said about pencil the op on the 5th of June but wanted a new CT scan beforehand. Not sure whether I should chase it up or not. He came across as someone very easily distracted. My consultation lasted 45mins and I now know about his parents, best friend, buying 2nd home in Nice, and how great my colorectal surgeon is …

I think it will get done when the time line is very tight. So maybe wait until I come back from my holiday which is 31/05. What do you all think? Never met a doctor quite like him before. But he is the best in this country for my situation.

Morning Stella, I would chase the CT, let them know when you are away/back otherwise you know the appointment will be also bang in the middle of your holiday. 

Where are you off to? Is this your cruise? X 

Hi Stella.  I would chase it up before you go away and try and get it done before.  Where are you going on holiday?  Is your Mom going to have Winston?

Hi MrU, I think I would prefer stewed rhubarb lol. I've some growing in my veg plot and I'm looking forward to the first rhubarb dish of the season soon. The variety I have is Crumble King. Yummy.
