Good morning all everyone,
Just setting up a new chat thread for June. If you would like to catch up on May's chat you can click here. Please note that it's now locked, so you won’t be able to reply to that thread.
The chit chat thread is for:
Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!
Even having a laugh, that is a normal life, and we all have it.
If you have a special topic please start a new thread so people that wish to see it can, and can comment.
That is good you will have your daughter with you. Yes Seaham is lovely, we visited there when we were on holiday in Yorkshire last time. That also gives you a break from driving I hope!

Hi Eddie and Ellie, I like worms too, they're invaluable in bringing detritus underground and aerating the soil at the same time. I don't know whether you remember the time of the New Zealand flat worms crisis when somehow they arrived in the UK maybe 20 years ago and began predating our worms? My garden and my plot was devoid of earthworms until a year or two ago and then they disappeared because their food source was depleted. Thankfully they are just returning but very, very slowly.
Don't know if I'd like one climbing up my leg though!

The above message generated a message from the community admin people thanking me for reaching out for help?
Maybe one of the team could contact me to say which word or phrase was the reason I was thought to be reaching out for help so I don't accidentally cause concern again. Anyone in the group have any suggestions?

Eddie, you wrote
"Good to hear you've had some time on the allotment, it's a good place to switch off and unwind, and you got a lot more done than I did, but dear o dear football, no thank you, golf every time for me, talking of which the Open's at Royal Portrush, , can you get me tickets?"
Wish I could Eddie, I'd give them to you. I like watching almost all sports. I would watch some golf tournaments and always watch the majors. Did you see the Grand Prix yesterday? Interesting, especially when the safety car came out about the 56th lap and changed tactics enormously.
The football on Saturday night was good, PSG won 5 nil but it's a bit of a dampener when some idiots rioted on the Champs Elysées and almost 600 were arrested. Mrs Tvman and I have walked up and down there many, many times when we went to Paris. Loved it. I studied french at Caen university on a couple of times when I was doing my degree in my early forties.
Later, you'll make a great representation in Sunderland, glad your daughter is driving, especially when you will be taking a bone pill that may make you feel ill. Take care Eddie

Morning tvman, I,my very happy when I see my soii has a healthy population of worms, as well as all the other little beasties you find in healthy soil, and I do remember the New Zealand flatworm scare, they got quite close to us, but couldn't cope with our dry weather and the occasional cold snaps we get here, I have 2 compost boxes about 7ft x 4ft x 4ft where all my green waste goes, and my youngest daughter who's a farmer who provides me with all the manure I need, to keep my soil healthy, I still have a problem with club root, due mainly to lack of rain.

My friend it's an automated system that picks up on certain words or phrases, it casts a wide net, to hopefully catch anyone who may be in need of extra support, I've had the message a few times and re-reading the post a few times often still can't be sure why it alerted the moderators, its a very minor issue to put up with, if it means help can be given to fellow members in need of help.

Morning everyone
Mondays still feel strange as not getting ready to start the working week - I don’t mind staying in bed longer though!!
eddiel I hope the trip to the funeral goes well - I’m sure Ulls’ family will be very appreciative - it seems he had great friends on here too
I’ve got plumbers here today putting in some new radiators downstairs (we’ve been meaning to do it for about 5 years !)
Hopefully we will get out for a walk too as the sky is a gorgeous blue this morning after a disappointing weekend weatherwise - I have a pile of admin to do but that can wait !!!
Love to all

Hi again my friend, I used to love lots of sports too, boxing, athletics, tennis, cycling, rugby league, football, F1,cricket, even crown green bowling, it's just golf and a little rugby union now, with an occasional grand prix, as long as I don't know the result before I watch it, it's really quite sad in F1 that safety cars and pit stops play such a big part in the result, but then again on some tracks it's so difficult to overtake, pit stops and safely cars provide the only excitement, as for the idiots who think there football fans, their NOT, give a few of them 5 years in jail, that will stop 90% of them overnight.
That's great you went to Caen Uni to study French, do you get to practice it enough to keep it fluent, mind you a lot of English words are creeping into the French language, it may not be necessary study their language.
