Starting treatment

Hi All

I'm lying in bed and can't sleep. I start Chemo treatment tomorrow. Docetaxil and Phesgo, with three days of steroids.

Up till now I've had tests, tests & more tests. Nurses have been great, but the doctors not so much.

I've been told I'll start on a 50% dose of docetaxil. If this doesn't work for me there is very little margin to adjust, with no other options.

I started writing war & peace here, but I deleted it. I'm not ready to share. There is so much going on and very little practical medical help locally. I need an holistic approach not a 'this is not my area, so I can't help' attitude. Is losing weight regime a good idea during chemo?

Frustrated and angry!

Going into battle tomorrow

Current status: Cancer-1; Me -0 (but not for long!)

  • Hi Sledge, good to hear you got through treatment, despite the delays, and side effects were manageable and eased quite quickly, and I hope your rest had the desired effect.

  • Hi All

    Day 2 Status....

Woke up this morning feeling a little tired, dry mouth, a little sensitive smell and taste, but managed to get through the day.

Energy levels fluctuated slightly but took a break for 10-15mins. Drank plenty of water. Hitting my 3.5 Ltrs. On the bike 10mins around six and cooked dinner. Had to take a break before I ate it as I wasn't sure I wouldn't throw up. Grinning but I got there in the end.

The only downer is the skin & nail care morning, noon and night. Not my normal routine.

I'm hoping tomorrow will stay the same! Fingers crossed

Hope you all had a good day.

    Love Sledge

  • Evening Sledge, sounds like a positive day, mostly, great you kept your fluids up and managed a meal, even managing a little exercise, all good and fingers crossed an improvement tomorrow, a quiet day for me, dog walk, shopping and massage. Tomorrow is a family day.
