  • Hi everyone. Sorry I am not up to date with everyone, this thread moves so fast, and there are so many other things going on on the site at the moment, that when I come back to this thread it has moved along, and I have no idea what is going on!

Couple of things I have picked up on, Moi I am sorry I missed your birthday! I hope you had a nice day.

I hope the treatment is going well. I’m not sure if the radiotherapy has started yet? How many sessions of that do you have to have?

Stella I have to agree with Annette about the amitriptyline, I take mine for anxiety and migraines, but it has also helped with my nerve damage that I have from radiotherapy in my back. I find that 10mg knocks me out! And I do feel like a zombie the next day. Try and take it a couple of hours before you usually go to sleep. I have dropped my dose down to 5mg, although they do not prescribe a 5mg tablet, so I have to cut it in half  which is not easy when it’s such a small tablet. It does come in liquid form which would be easier, but gp laughed when I asked for it, she said it is much too expensive to prescribe. I up my dose to 10mg when I feel that I need too. It’s great for sleep! But does take some time to get used too.

  • Morning   All

Well where does one start lol.

Got picked up 8.30 walked threw my front door, dead on 7pm shattered, though in one one have never laughed so much with my sister.

The driver that  picked us up was lovely the 3 off us talked for the two hour drive.

I always treat the drivers, but in the year i have been going there never had the same driver, though yesterday I did. we got home and of course i treated again he gets out of  car, gives us a cuddle and a kiss, bonus then the same to my sister.

We learnt all about his car was lovely, quiet and very smooth, talking about car here. did not even realise it was an electric one.

That was the good part of the day.

  • Dreich day in north Scotland. But still not as cold as you'd expect for Jan. Which doesn't mean it isn't bloody chilly!

and   love the cat photos! Winstone has such gorgeous fur. Spider sounds like a character! But then they all are in different ways. Tiki's attitude is part of what drew me to her.

  • Hi

    Chelle and Annett

Thank you for your advice on amitriptyline. I took one last night and did manage to sleep for 10 hours while on steroids! Feel quite sleepy still until about 11am. So I will try to take it earlier tonight and see.
However I noticed the bitter taste in my mouth has reduced and that is a bonus.
Come to think of it, as a dentist we used to advice patients with burning mouth syndrome to take amitriptyline too.
Just watching tennis on TV and relaxing today

  • Wow Ellie, that was a long day, with lots of laughing and chatting, and with kisses and cuddles to end, I hope you slept well my friend and are feeling brighter today, now the wait for results, I will have everything crossed they are as good as possible.

Had my results RE bones, ribs clear, lower spine, suggestive of cancer, colonoscopy early indications good, and we've just got back from Mandy's 4th chemo, which she's managing well.

  • That part was good.

Chattered up the consultant  did not know he was one lol, looked far to young lol, we sat down told him was looking for a toy boy and he would do, he said sign here, I asked why, he said its a blank cheque and we have a deal lol, it was consent form for the radiotherapy,  just my luck.

I have the first one booked for 3rd Feb, had ct scan and then mri  scan yesterday, one with the mask on, all depends what they say, is how many i will have to have.

The masking making what not a  pleasant experience, but done now asked why i was having radiotherapy in London Hospital, super doper high tec machine, best in the country, that will do for me.

Glad your daughter is managing the chemo quiet well.

Not sure why they cannot give you  a answer  regarding your results, then you know which way you are heading.

I slept really well do not Rembert anything after i got to bed and had a lay in up at 8.45.

Yesterday was in my kitchen at 4.40 do not want that time to often lol.

Today is a chill day, with tea and coffee lol.

  • Hi Lex, Spider decided he was going to be a kitten forever, much to Misty's bemusement, he was as daft as brush but such fun, and another Scot on the forum, there are a few, I am originally from Oban, but now live in Yorkshire, but try to get back to see family & friends regularly, cold, wet and grey here, so feet up while my eldest daughter has a sleep after her chemo.

    Eddie xx

  • These doctors and consultants do seem to get younger every year, and at least you tried lol.

Only 2 weeks to wait, that's good,  and hopefully your scan results can be as good as hoped, never had a mask, though a couple of friends have and they didn't like it,  but it's done now, so ready for treatment with this super duper machine, only the best for our Ellie

I'm not surprised you conked out, I hope your feeling ok today, and a feet up day sounds good,

Thanks Ellie,  it's great my daughter is doing so well, and there struggling to tell cancer from all the damage to my lower spine, hopefully they have answers on Feb 4th.
