Scary time

I've just got home from my regular walk in the woods with Candy. She was attacked out of nowhere, for no reason, by a black labrador. I'm only just beginning to calm down and feel OK. Thankfully, Candy seems to be alright, with no bite marks. It was so scary!

If I'm in a stressful situation, my cortisol levels drop, and I feel very 'wobbly' and unwell. I have to top up with extra steroids when this happens. I did this as soon as I got home.

Think I'll give the woods a miss for a while!

  • Hi Puddock, sorry I've only just seen your post, what an awful thing to happen to poor Candy, and to you, how are you both feeling, hope you've both managed to calm down a little, let's hope the idiot owner is a tourist and you never see them again.

We've had 2 dog attacks locally recently, a mum pushing her pushchair was attacked by a dog while trying to protect her baby, she's in serious condition in hospital 3 weeks later, and 6 weeks ago a 10 year old girl was attacked by a xl bully dog, she was dragged around by the neck, thankfully, physically she's going to be ok, but emotionally who knows , glad to say both owners have been arrested.

My little Jack Russel Poppy wouldn't have much chance against a big dog and her little legs, wouldn't enable herto run away, thankfully Candy's a  big girl which offers her some protection, I hope you both sleep well and are in a better place emotionally in the morning.
