  • Hi TVman, I worked till I was 67 but soon found out no matter what pensions you have it's a big drop from salery.

  • Hi Ellie and Moi, we still use cash whenever we can it's easier to keep track of, our daughter uses a watch not a card, very odd to see.

  • Since Covid reared its ugly head and people were asked to pay by card when possible, I've been having concerns about what bugs and viruses can be passed when handling cash. Part of my job involved handling large amounts of cash and the first thing I did on returning home was to wash my hands thoroughly and announce that it was to get the cocaine off them!

Hope you can read this before someone flags me to the mods and the offensive word that describes what I was washing from my hands, is removed lol.

Take care and stay safe everyone

    Tvman xx

    Love life and family.
  • Prior to retirement part of my job included counting large volumes of cash, I always washed my hands after, you never no who else has been handling it, both of us wash or our hands when we come home anyway, can't be to careful.

  • I was a teller in The Bank of Scotland and washed my hands continuously throughout the day. Money is very dirty! The new notes will make a big difference because it wasn't only the coins that were dirty. If notes were deposited from the local pubs you could actually smell the beer off of them, disgusting. It always made me wonder what was on them we couldn't smell!
