Art for art's sake

I was wondering if anyone feels they might benefit from being part of an art group specifically for those here. I'm an artist, though I have to admit to you that I've produced absolutely nothing for ages due to being ill and in hospital, not having anywhere to exhibit for aeons and generally being extremely knackered out most of the time. But then I started thinking maybe I could do something positive about it. I've worked within what's called the 'Arts in Health' sphere and done a lot with things like colour therapy. I'd also like to say that you don't have to be rich to make art. I've done a whole exhibition made from recycled materials. It's all about taking yourself to another place for a while and having a bit of messy fun. No judgemental rubbish or anything like that. And if you don't think you're able to draw anything that looks remotely like what it's supposed to look like, well, that doesn't matter either. I think that maybe for starters you might like to message me if you are interested and then I'll try and work out a little programme. Just for us. Let me know what you think. Rainy X

I like that picture. Victorians did a lot of good things, they did not just paint.

They built reservois so we could all have as much water as we want. That didn't work though.

  • But when they were full of water, in the old days, they were very good for bouncing bombs on.  Rainie x

  • Hi Rainie, I have let Mrs U read you post, she asked me to relay this to you, I did not know this either, The male in the picture is the artist and their are his children, he added himself and his children in all the paintings he gave to the pupils he thought show the most interest in art, so they would not forget him, could be a painted selfie, but Mrs U say's he was an excellent teacher and a nice guy, his kids went to the same school, different class.

I just did what I was told and hung it where I was told, you ladies can be quite volatile at times.

I think men can be volatile as well. This is causing much problem.

I say this as I am familiar with both gender of people.

  • Well it means something to your wife then Ulls. She must like it. Or it wouldn't be in your home taking up wall space. Do you like it Ulls? Or is that putting you on the spot? Rainie x

I think you are not sure of your facts, I don't want to say this but bombs not bounce.

They do not go to water either. They come out of planes and make a hole in the ground. That then may get filled with water. Is that what you mean?

Bomb first then water not the other way round I feel sure but I am young so not know much of bombs. You old you know more.

  • There is no law against it, and each to their own, personally I just prefer women, call me old fashioned.

Us rainbows say, try before you buy.

  • It's not some thing I would spend money on, and I refused to have it in my room (den), I've already stated some styles I like, I'm ok with Monett, work which does not look like a photo graph, and simple work, but if I like it I don't care who has done it, too take the mick out of Picasso I drew a triangle man, but it would not post
