I was wondering if anyone feels they might benefit from being part of an art group specifically for those here. I'm an artist, though I have to admit to you that I've produced absolutely nothing for ages due to being ill and in hospital, not having anywhere to exhibit for aeons and generally being extremely knackered out most of the time. But then I started thinking maybe I could do something positive about it. I've worked within what's called the 'Arts in Health' sphere and done a lot with things like colour therapy. I'd also like to say that you don't have to be rich to make art. I've done a whole exhibition made from recycled materials. It's all about taking yourself to another place for a while and having a bit of messy fun. No judgemental rubbish or anything like that. And if you don't think you're able to draw anything that looks remotely like what it's supposed to look like, well, that doesn't matter either. I think that maybe for starters you might like to message me if you are interested and then I'll try and work out a little programme. Just for us. Let me know what you think. Rainy X
Just a reminder that if anybody feels they would be helped by losing themselves in doing something creative, then there is an Art Club, of sorts, on this thread for anybody to join in. If you would like some simple ideas to kick off with I have three projects I can e-mail to anybody who messages me privately with their e-mail address. Absolutely no experience needed. Anything goes. All good wishes to all of you. Rainie x
Hi Rainie, thanks for the invitation. I'm in no way artistic, my wife is. She made an 8ft tall scarecrow called Woody that protected our soft fruit for the last two years. He's in the top photo and there are peas that I picked last night in the lower photo but they're at the end of growing and don't look so good.
The nights are getting colder now so nothing in the veg plot is looking good right now except for those that are under ground ie carrots, parsnips, beetroot and potatoes. Celery isn't so bad but I have the stalks covered to make them white.
I grew purple podded peas last year but when the peas get popped out they're green. They were tasty however the yield isn't great. In the past I have grown purple mangetout but when they're boiled they lose the purple colour and look insipid. I have also grown purple, white and yellow carrots. (Three different coloured carrots, not striped, that would be amazing, no one has perfected that yet!) Did you know that carrots were originally purple until the Dutch got their mits on them and bred them orange?
I could talk about veg until you fall asleep Rainie, that's if you haven't already lol.
Take care and stay safe.
Tvman xx
Oh no, I don't have an image button, that happens frequently. I've taken a screenshot to prove I'm not telling fibs!
Oh no again, I can't publish that, no image button lol. I'll have to contact admin, again! Lol. I'll save the screenshot for later.lm falling asleep, I am awake because I moved my leg and I had a horrendous pain from a nerve pain. It felt like someone had stabbed me in the thigh and ran the blade right down to my ankle. I woke up screaming, that's a common occurrence when I sleep on my back!
