Art for art's sake

I was wondering if anyone feels they might benefit from being part of an art group specifically for those here. I'm an artist, though I have to admit to you that I've produced absolutely nothing for ages due to being ill and in hospital, not having anywhere to exhibit for aeons and generally being extremely knackered out most of the time. But then I started thinking maybe I could do something positive about it. I've worked within what's called the 'Arts in Health' sphere and done a lot with things like colour therapy. I'd also like to say that you don't have to be rich to make art. I've done a whole exhibition made from recycled materials. It's all about taking yourself to another place for a while and having a bit of messy fun. No judgemental rubbish or anything like that. And if you don't think you're able to draw anything that looks remotely like what it's supposed to look like, well, that doesn't matter either. I think that maybe for starters you might like to message me if you are interested and then I'll try and work out a little programme. Just for us. Let me know what you think. Rainy X

  • Can actually see the bottom of the garden after a thick sea fret this morning. Bloody cold though! Hope you've got your Christmas jumper on over your thermals?   Rainie x

  • Me too. Wonderful coastline. I was very tempted to move to Lelant at one time, but glad I didn't. It takes forever to get anywhere. Lovely for a trip though.  Rainie x

  • The 11th Arty day of Christmas is here already. Hunkered down now with everything we need, so can relax. No more deliveries, no more doing much of anything. Our Christmas dinner was just delivered, so two days off kitchen duties too. It's a holiday!

So here's the next image which is especially for tvman. It's called 'Parsnips, Sprouts & Greens' and is by Gary Bunt. Painted in 1957, Mr Bunt gets put into the category of 'naieve' - a term usually put onto native art, pictures done by fishermen and other so-called amateurs. It implies they had no fine art training. Who cares? It was made with love as anyone can see. It's great.  Rainie x

I feel honored to have been given sh* by you Norberry, like I am part of the in group now!

Maybe we warm climate people make more subtle distinctions among oranges and pinks in sunsets? Or humidity? I do feel like there is a huge difference between a 90 degree, 75% humidity day and a 100 degree, 25% humidity day. But that's the feel, not the appearance. Hmmm.

  • Lovely to paint gardening plus dog xxx

I guessed from knowing me a bit you wouldn't mind Patricia. I did worry a bit but then thought you are thousands of miles away, what can you do to me! That's not an invitation!

  • Norbs, I lost my lucky tanner! That's going to have a lot of people scratching their heads, those who don't know will need to consult Google PhD Joy

I dug my last potatoes yesterday, well didn't actually dig, more like tipped them out of the tyres. Got a good yield too, pretty proud of them I am.

    After:

    Have a great day everyone

    Love life and family.
