Not long after diagnosis, I ended up in the cancer hospital with colitis for ten days. After four days when my oncologist came to do her rounds, she asked if I was comfortable enough and asked how the food was. I said " Do they never have ice cream for dessert, I'm just dying for one!" She laughed then said maybe I should keep that to myself as some people had no sense of humour!! Mustn't that be a terrible way to live (or die!)!

I frequently say things that make one of my friends especially cringe and laugh at the same time. Long may we continue to do so.
