Here is one of my dogs in the snow today
My dog is 11 and he has bad teeth too. We were told that about 8 years ago and the vet suggested we give him soft tinned food to eat rather than hard crunchy food. He was diagnosed with Addison's disease when he was about 3 months old, he has an allergy to something which brings his skin out in scabs and he has to have a £55 injection every 6-8 weeks. The insurance paid out for the first one but won't cover any more, pre existing condition.
Humana get diagnosed with that condition too.
One of my customers dogs had Addisons, he was surprised i'd heard of it until i told him my sister has it.
It's strange how animals get the same illnesses as humans. My cat yrs ago had Tonsillitis, my mum thought i was pulling her leg when i came back from the vets and told her.

I knew a dog with Addison's, a lovely failed mountain rescue dog. She failed on the grounds that she just wasn't strong enough to do the big searches in big terrain. Anyway, before she was diagnosed she became exhausted on a walk and I gave her oatcakes to keep her going, it was the only dog-edible food we had. After that she was my friend for life.
Not sure if i have introduced my Ozzy boy to you all, he is nearly 2 and behaves just like his name sake Ozzy Ozbourne.
He's waiting here for me to get off my laptop so he can have his afternon cuddle. He must be having an off day today as he doesn't normally wait, he just pile drives straight in regardless !!
