I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

  • You would love Cuba Richard. You wouldn't stop singing and they'd love your purple hair.  Rainie x

    I have 3 good things:

    1. I've been able to work in the studio every morning this week and my head feels so much better for being back in there 'doing'.

    2. Over Christmas I re-discovered METAXA. No bad effects in the smaller stomach department. Yay!

    3. Had buttered toasted teacakes this afternoon. Simple, but absolutely delicious. Little things can make you feel so content.

    Love to you all,

    Rainie

  • Got a bottle of the 7 which is as smooth as silk. Not easy to get hold of though. Had lovely beer in Cuba!  Rainie x

  • I know what you mean, but I think it's psychcological. If you have Greek food and coffee it works better, but looking at your holiday snaps isn't the same as sitting by the ocean with warm herbal breezes and a waiter called Nikos bringing you your dolmades and tzatziki.  Ah well.  Rainie x

  • I love toasted tea cakes!

Hi Ruth, sounds like you are enjoying Greece. I've never heard of Metaxa? Is it alcohol? Have fun!

    Love Annette x

Annette, Ruth is in the UK. You may well have been drinking mataxa as you sound confused. Metaxa is a dodgy Greek brand that has convinced Remoh that he looks good in purple!
