I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

  • The communication by trees via fungi is called the "wood wide web". Is amazing. The natural world is so much more complex than we puny creatures can grasp, and everything so much more interdependent than we can imagine, which is sadly our problem as a species.

    My 3 good things:

1.The new dogs are still being well behaved

    2. Managed to walk them as a couple, rather than having to do 2 walks separately. Didnt get pulled too much either.

    3. Had a visitor and they didnt eat her. In fact they wanted to squash her by sitting on her.

  • Thats interesting. I agree too about the.natural world. We need nature but nature doesnt need us. People often d ont get it. They should, see photo below along south coast Hampshire. I think nature is balancing things now. Unfortunately, its the generations ahead who will suffer.

    1. Visited so many fantastic places, the shambles, York minster, cliffords tower, castle museum, Jorvik Viking experience

    2. Drank lots of cocktails and eat fantastic food including trying snails and frogs legs for the first time

    3. managed to do the bloody tour, the ghost bus tour and a river site seeing so covered most of York

all in all it meant I had a fantastic break for my Birthday which was on Wednesday.
