I know that started this brilliant idea so I wanted to carry it on for her and as the forum has become a little gloomy recently as we face loosing them both soon.

So

1. daloni and dizzie outlasted their prognosis by years and I am sure proved that you can have quality of life despite doctors best guesses and we all benefited from knowing them on here.

2. I just got back from a fabulous holiday in Galicia, northern Spain. I walked more than I have for months (chemo pushed me into a wheelchair) the food and wine was fab and I met old friends and laughed a lot.

3. Macmillan have admitted that their upgrade has been a bit sh*t and are working on improving it. Hurrah for Macmillan who have admitted it didn't go well. How many organisations actually come out and say that.

I don't like to think that newbies think that we are a miserable lot, what struck me on here when I came was how much joy, laughter and living went on despite cancer.

  • I occasionally paint reiki Japanese symbols with a paint set. I made some picture frames. Each symbol represents a life purpose, for example, impermanence, living in the moment. Etc. Ive found it therapeutic. I studied reiki healing many Years ago.

  • I used to have regular reiki sessions from a friend, and despite being a sceptic about such things, I found it incredibly relaxing and so maybe that is enough. I certainly sailed through chemo when I had it in 2004.

Got back from Greenman festival yesterday tea time. We had a good time but so tiring , as ever we took too much stuff and lugging it to and from the car park was an effort even with trolleys, so my 3 good things for today:

Slept in a real bed last night, bliss

Didn't have to use a compost toilet today ( even more bliss, you dont know how lovely a flush toilet is until you have shared compost toilets with 25k other people- can be grim)

Unpacked yesterday so can just relax today. I was however impressed with my ability to pull a loaded trolley up a muddy hill. Not bad for 66 and incurably ill I thought!

Hoping that have managed not to get covid, as heard festival in Cornwall linked to lots of positives. Was outside most of the time, but had to walk through some crowded areas at times. Felt weird, but at same time normal, to be around so many people.

  • Sounds like a good experience overall.

well done for doing it in your 60s x

    Ruth

  • It'd be great to see some Tony73. Could you maybe put a few onto the art thread? If you feel like it.

    Rainie x

  • Okay i will take a picture of two hanging in the conservatory. Ive just posted them in the thread you mentioned.

  • They look good @Tony73.

    My 3 good things today:

Scan results show mainly stable although some slight changes in liver, but they are happy for me to stay on current oral meds.

As a result, I am now actively considering going to look at 2 rescue staffies as I have been unowned by staffies now for nearly 3 months.

Weekend in local cottage ( whole 12 miles away) set up with daughter and with visits from son, and friends factored in too over weekend.

  • Good news on your scan results and you can continue on your oral meds I hope the staffies  work out for you and you have a lovely time in the cottage xxx

    1. Visited the Kelpies in Falkirk. Just magnificent. Talk about art to lift your spirit.
    2. Went on the Falkirk Wheel boat lift. As we are canal boat owners and enthusiasts, this was excellent.
    3. Picked up our rental motorhome and drove to just north of Inverness for our first night camping on the North Coast 500 trip. Right on the seafront.

Everyone is knackered. Dogs are snoring Sleeping

    Much love,

    Stuart x

  • Brilliant Stuart, I'm very jealous- enjoy! Relaxed

  • Hi Rainie you hit the proverbial nail on the head, there are pens and there are good pen's, the better the tool the better the job.
