1. I'm just about to head off on a weekend with my eldest daughter (10) for a mothers and daughters activity weekend. It's raining but the wellies are packed! Hoping I survive!
2. Head a tiny 3 week old baby this morning - gorgeous remembering new life - so small and perfect!
3. Had a delivery of some amazing biscuits from a friend - special.
Have a good weekend all, despite all the hard.

Dear Horrifying News,
I am so glad you had the 18 months of fun and no chemo. That is always the choice for all of us, suffer from the chemo and hope for a cure, or have many months without treatment and have a normal life as long as possible. I tend to side with you, I am on targeted therapy that is working but when the time comes I will shy away from Chemo- it will be quality of life governing my decisions. Of course, I am older and have grown children and grandchildren that are independent.
I wish you all the best and hoping you find a better drug that makes you comfortable and as normal as possible. You are in my thoughts.
Hugs,
Millie
Hi Horrifying News
Bleat away, no worries from me. You are having such a hard time. Life is a bitch at times.
I've never posted in this group but I sure love reading everyone's posts as I love to find out all your good news, makes me smile a lot, maybe I should try posting here to see if I get the feel-good factor.
It's only when you said about how amazing the women are here when I realised that there aren't many men around, unfortunately we have lost some lately
I'll give it a try some time soon, yeah?
Tvman xx
Ooh that’d be nice, tvman. I’ve noticed that there are many more women than men here and wondered why. Your post sparked a thought. Have you heard of Men’s Sheds? They are community groups set up to encourage men to get together and chat but based around sheds and involving doing the kind of stuff men do in sheds.
Maybe you should start a virtual Men’s Shed group here?
My three good things from a very quiet day yesterday
1. I finally got round to getting my windscreen wipers replaced. They’ve been smearing dirt around for weeks now
2. Peanut butter and chocolate gelato. It was on offer when I did the internet shop at the weekend but still quite pricey. It was every bit as good as it sounds. There’s some left for another day too
3. The colour of the grass after all the rain. It’s so vivid.
Three good things from today;
1. Slept in today, went out to meet my daughter for breakfast. Came back fed the dog and went back to bed. Woke up at noon! outrageous I'm usually up at 6AM working on a project.
2. Did the laundry from the Tampa trip. All clean and organized.
3. Enjoyed the sunshine, although getting cold in San Francisco- going back to Kauai in 3 days, taking TVmans advice and starting my garden again.
4. Playing Phil Collins Dance into the Night- good times
Hugs to all,
Millie
My three good things
1. I made a reversible bucket hat for my daughter. It’s in the most outrageous fabrics - all scraps left over from other projects. A new item to add to my repertoire
2. I saw the urologist about my wonky kidney. Second time this month. I was expecting to get fobbed off like last time but this time he took me seriously and came up with a plan.
3. Choir practice. We are singing the Messiah. It was lovely.
Xx
Hi all

The surgeons were going to try and close it using tissue from back but it started to heal and quite honestly I really didn’t want more surgery , Anyway I am thrilled ,as is my husband ,he has bee
n dressing it ,cleaning it and generally using tic on it
2 lovely walk in sunshine with my fabulous much adored dog

Hi Janet
good news about the wound. And isn’t it funny how proprietorial we feel about “our” nurses?
My three good things
1. My sister arrived for a short visit. She lives in Singapore and is here to see her son at Plymouth uni but has managed to fit me in.
2. I made an aubergine parmigiana and lemon posset for supper. Totally delicious. Totally easy.
3. We went to see Lemn Sissay read from his memoir and talk about his life. He was amazing and inspiring. His core messages were about the importance of forgiveness and being kind to ourselves. They certainly resonate with me.
Xx
Hi
sleepless again so time to focus on my three good things
1. I took my sister to Sissinghurst garden. It was beautiful and I feel revitalised
2. I got a new bamboo toothbrush; it was packaged in cardboard. Saving the planet one toothbrush at a time.
3. The hat I made and sent off by post to my best friend arrived in time for her holiday. It is a reversible bucket hat made out of scraps of wonderful African fabrics from other projects. It fits and she loves it.
Xx
Reversible bucket hats, ticks all the boxes Creative, useful and good fun!
My 3 good things
1. Seeing my Consultant today, and feel the best I've felt since starting oral chemo in Feb. Side effects well controlled, and my nails, which were disintegrating, are looking much healthier since using almond oil on them.
2. Used Makaton for the first time at the drama group I volunteer with, for adults with learning difficulties. They were absolutely delighted and so encouraging.
3.Went swimming yesterday for the 3rd time. The first time I could barely manage a length of front crawl (it's a 50 yard pool) without getting out of breath, but yesterday managed 2 lengths of crawl and a length of breast stroke before resting. Only 12 lengths in total but it feels so good to be back in the water.
Have a good weekend everyone. xx
Three things from this week:
1. Saw The Goldfinch which was better than the reviews suggested (not as good as the book though)
2. Found fairly cheap train tickets so OH and I are coming to York for the meet-up
3. Saw a very good amateur production of A Woman of No Importance at Northern Stage
