1. I'm just about to head off on a weekend with my eldest daughter (10) for a mothers and daughters activity weekend. It's raining but the wellies are packed! Hoping I survive!

2. Head a tiny 3 week old baby this morning - gorgeous remembering new life - so small and perfect!

3. Had a delivery of some amazing biscuits from a friend - special.

Have a good weekend all, despite all the hard.

    1. Breakfast on the terrace of the Airbnb chalet yesterday. It’s staggeringly beautiful here, even on a grey day.

    2. My daughter made it home at 5.10am and credit where it’s due, she was packed and ready to go at 8.30. We did her washing here Joy

    3. My lovely family is looking after me and I have not had to lift a finger.

It’s raining right now and I’m in bed, looking at a view of the Alps. The weather forecast says it’s set to improve steadily from now.

    Hi!

I have had a super abundance of good things, so many that I’m embarrassed to list them. So I’ll keep it short.

    1. I’ve had a remarkable turnaround physically. Right up until the moment we left, I was not sure I was well enough to travel but gritted my teeth and hoped for the best. I’ve picked up steadily and feel better now than I’ve felt in ages. My family say I appear better than I have in years. Literally.  It must be the Alpine air.

    2. Slovenia is so beautiful it takes my breath away. The weather is perfect, warm but not too hot. There are wild flowers everywhere. It’s a bit like Scotland but with better weather and no midges.

    3. I ache all over - and it’s because I’ve been so active. I’ve been canoeing, e-biking, flying across valleys on giant zup wires, rafting down rivers and swimming. I’ve been able to do all this not only because I’ve picked up physically but also because my family have been there to support me.

    Xx

I am so pleased you are having the holiday you deserve. I hope your energy and all the good feelings that come with it will continue to improve from now on.

  • Hi all,

Very encouraged by all your lovely things. jealous about Slovakia though, sounds fantastic. Can we all come and join in

    Mine for today:

    •  Had a lovely Sunday lunch out with my family - a fab roast cooked by someone else!
    •  Was introduced to someone new by a friend and they knew nothing about my cancer so I was able to have a whole conversation about being human rather than being a cancer blob.
    •  My 11 year old has a friend over and all with the world is well again (think she's been missing other 11 year olds... we're all "annoying").

    Happy Sunday all.

Ooh that all sounds wonderfully normal . Just the ticket.

I had a rest day yesterday and spent a happy morning playing a complicated dice game with my niece and older daughter. We sat in the sunshine drinking mineral water with lemon. So that’s my first thing.

We did venture down to the river in the afternoon for things  two and three, namely swimming in the river and eating frozen yoghurt. Mmmm delicious.

Is this maybe the best swimming spot in the world?

  • Hi Daloni, If it's not the best it must be one of them at least! Looks amazing! Are you home? Or when do you get home?

What are you doing awake at this unearthly hour of the morning!

    Love Annette x
