1. I'm just about to head off on a weekend with my eldest daughter (10) for a mothers and daughters activity weekend. It's raining but the wellies are packed! Hoping I survive!
2. Head a tiny 3 week old baby this morning - gorgeous remembering new life - so small and perfect!
3. Had a delivery of some amazing biscuits from a friend - special.
Have a good weekend all, despite all the hard.

Hi Daloni
Yes I know steroids and all the other drugs I am taking are necessary and save me much worse side affects. Whenever I feel nauseous I think at least I’ve never actually been sick like all sufferers used to be.
I am grateful to all those who in the past went on trials so I could benefit now, which is why I hope the trial I am on will help others in the future.
I can only hope that if my children have this awful disease things would be easier for them by then.
My three good things:
1. I haven’t done any of my photobook today so far. Why is that good? Because I’ve done other things instead!
2. Had a drive around to see there still is a world out there and ended up at my daughters. Had lots of cuddles with my granddaughter then we had a lovely lunch together.
3. She called in after school and her children picked some of my first strawberries that I cannot believe the birds had not eaten. I know you can picture the 17 month with the juice dripping off her lips and her cheeks bulging. Classic!
4. Yes, today I’m showing off by having four things., I picked a bunch of roses and peonies for my daughter to take home. She deserved them.
Hi,
Enjoyed thinking of you, SussexO, driving around making sure of the world.
Three good things for today:
1) Walked to the Post office with a rest on the bench at the War Memorial where I saw pink peonies as well as the roses.(Have they always been there?? Have I been blind?)
2) Bought Dear Mrs.Byrd, by AJ Pierce at the bookseller coming back. Something easy and entertaining to read whilst sitting in the garden. Can pass it around my sewing group when done.
3) Received call from oncologistgynaecologist that surgery has been approved and scheduled. Seems to be following the appt with him rather quickly. How is this good news? Over and done with sounds good to me!
Hi all hope everyone is keeping well. Three good things today .
I am currently sat waiting for a CT and the cannula went in on the 1st attempt. Unheard of!
My little Robin is back in my garden after a few weeks away who knows where
My OH is going to make me a lovely brunch when I get home.
Love to all and hope this weather improves xx
Hi,
Happy your Robin is back, Kirky68.
Three good things for today:
1) Washed some silk shirts. The sky was cloudy but with a little wind so I chanced it and hung them out. They dried quickly. Can quit walking by the basket thinking I need to wash them.
2) The neighbour came over for a chat and to give me some fabric she'd found.
3) The cat brought us a mouse and left it on the stair. I have gone about and checked all the traps in pantry and elsewhere. They are empty and set. So now nothing more to do but take deep breath and be thankful for the cat.
Mice are very cute. As a child I wanted one for a pet. I like to look carefully at the ones the cat brings if they are not mangled.
Don’t talk to me about cats and mice! One of my cats brought me a live mouse the other night and proceeded to chase it around my bedroom. I ended up catching it (cat one side of curtain, mouse the other and I swooped. Got it by the tail) and liberating it into the garden. I hope it found its way home.
My three good things today
1. A boat trip with my nieces. Lovely company. Lovely lunch.
2. A great chat with friend whom I see only rarely
3. My daughter made me a lovely cup of tea
xx
Daloni, you must be much faster than I am to have caught the mouse. I've tried throwing a towel over one to catch it that way, but without success. Am not keen to try with my bare hands; do not fancy being bitten. My sister caught one once years ago. I do not remember how she went about it.
Three things:
1) A friend came for a cup of tea and a chat.
2) A row of four Limes is blooming along the way I walk each day. The fragrance is wonderful.
3) A yellow lily has opened up in the garden. I must look up its name.i
Had a good burst of energy on the first day of our break.
I’m seeing my older granddaughter (5) this weekend.
I’m in Wales and it isn’t raining.
Hi
My sister recommends a cereal box with a hole in one corner. The mouse runs in, you pick up the box. I have never tried it. I just wait until the mouse is exhausted and pick it up by the tail. It can’t bite me and I can release it back into the wild.
Anyway. Three good things from yesterday.
1. CT scan all done and a nice time had as a friend came to meet me for coffee afterwards. We went to the Whitechapel Gallery - nice space, nice music, great coffee
2. I picked up the fabric for my niece’s bridesmaids’ dressing gowns. I was wearing a pair of trousers I’d made from fabric I bought at the same shop last year. The shopkeeper was so delighted she charged me less than we’d negotiated last week when I was scouting fabrics. £12 a 12 yard bolt. Bargain. Now to start the gown-a-thon
3. I successfully adapted my favourite brownie recipe for my daughter’s current needs. She’s going through a hideous allergy crisis and has had an intermittent all over body rash for three weeks now. She has to do two weeks off antihistamines before allergy testing and it’s piteous to behold the state of her. We are cutting out potential allergens from her diet including gluten. A straight swap of gram (chickpea) flour for wheat flour and bingo!
Oh dear. Is this a bit showy offy? Perhaps I can be indulged. I think I may be overcompensating for scanxiety (not expecting good results tbh), anxiety about daughter and anxiety about a kidney op planned for next week. I am keeping busy.
Xx
Hi! I'm new on Macmillan.
I caught mice that way. I noticed my pretzel box jumped. Bagged it and opened after a car ride, and out went a mouse. I eventually caught the whole family of 4 with it. Every time the box jumped, I slammed down the lid.
The thick, salted, old fashioned, hard kind of pretzels. This mouse family liked them.
Sounds like lots of skills. Good luck with everything!
@Daloni please please come live near me. I need someone like you in my life to teach me things lol! I'm a full on believer that talenteed people should be able to boast lol
