1. I'm just about to head off on a weekend with my eldest daughter (10) for a mothers and daughters activity weekend. It's raining but the wellies are packed! Hoping I survive!

2. Head a tiny 3 week old baby this morning - gorgeous remembering new life - so small and perfect!

3. Had a delivery of some amazing biscuits from a friend - special.

Have a good weekend all, despite all the hard.

    Well done Daloni!

How glorious that you were to see you accomplishments and acts of random kindness. Very sweet returns on your return on investment in people.

Its OK to miss a day of the program, remember God rested on the 7th day and he did not have cancer.

Soak in your goodwill and satisfaction with work well done. I know for one you have been an excellent beacon of hope for me.

    Hugs,

    Millie

    Hi

The get together for the memorial sounds wonderful. I hope you have a day full of laughter and tears and feel the presence of your dear mother alongside you

    xx

I always think it is such a shame that the wider family only manages to get together for weddings and funerals. They are special days in so many ways.

Dalini our conference sounds interesting but I can see why one day might be enough.

    My good things

Just home after a lovely few days with my daughter and little Ted who is now 4 weeks and changing all the time.

Came home to a lovely clean house and a nice tea. Husbands are quite useful.

Meeting with doctor for second opinion in London on Wednesday was really interesting and hopefully might open up a few new avenues for my treatment. She was recommending an immunotherapy trial as my best course of action. She's reporting back to my doctor in Edinburgh and thinks that we should be 'full steam ahead' and not sitting waiting for my symptoms to get worse. I have an appointment with him in a weeks time

Hi all, Full of good things having to do with family.Hard to narrow it to three. I 'all do my best not to get carried away.

    Yesterday:

    1) Everything went as planned. Not without hiccups, but definitely without anxiety provoking faux pas.

    2) Had a reception here for family and friends, for which brother who cooks prepared lasagna.  Wonderful aromas wafting from the kitchen.

    3) Wonderful memories shared of being here together like this for Christmas's generation after generation. Started talking of all the generations sent  my youngest brother to the attics for photographs. We were into the wee hours digging in boxes, finding photos that brought back personal memories, but also sorting the identies of bewhiskered and corsetted family members from the advent of photography onward.

Thank you Daloni for your well wishes.

Kircal I agree we should be together more often. The post WWII scattering of family saddens me occasionally, but this area could not provide for us all.  We,ve become somewhat global.

    Ah

that sounds like the best way to spend such a day. Family, food and memories. I’m glad it went well and I hope you will sleep peacefully tonight.

I have had a very quiet weekend recovering from the conference on Friday. Here are three good things from the weekend

    1. My big girl cooked and cleared up afterwards. She not only loaded the dishwasher and set it off but also wiped down all surfaces and even mopped the kitchen floor. I am seriously impressed.

    2. My blue Himalayan poppy is flowering for the deck coming year. It’s joyous but in a different way to the bright orange California poppies nearby. They are an absolute riot.

    3. Playing pandemic with my girls. It’s a board game where you have to work together to save the world from a global disease outbreak. Good fun.

I have my 18th and final dose of chemo tomorrow. I can hardly believe it’s nearly over. I’ll be so glad to see the back of it. Of the last 14 months, 10 of them have been on chemo.

    xx

Good morning from the land of insomnia brought on by steroids. My three good things:

    1. I completed the chemo today. Was it really January when I embarked on this? Yes it was.

    2. I got home in record time. This week the blood labs were running smoothly and pharmacy were not overloaded. The drugs were ready for the off by 11.30 (previous record 2.30pm with a personal best of 5.30) and I was home by 4.

    3. M&S chocolate peanuts on the way home.

    Xx

Congratulations on completing chemo Daloni. Glad it was a straight forward day and you got home in good time. Enjoy the break. Sad you have to go through the chemo dip before you'll start to feel better. Onwards and upwards.

    3 good things

worked away in the garden yesterday. Finished all the summer tubs and stuff. Very satisfying

Garden looking fabulous with roses just waiting for sunshine and all ready to pop open.

Hair appointment tomorrow. Quite nervously excited about needing to have my hair cut after chemo!

I've needed this thread this week as I've had a pretty crap time

Daloni well done on completing your chemo.  You inspire me!

    So my good things

Had a great birthday party for my '50'...

Calli got a great review from her nursery and she is doing really well

Saw my actual oncologist today as I'm starting (another) chemo tomorrow and he was full of fight for me which is just what I needed

    Hurray for oncologists with fight!

    Hurray for your marvellous child!

And hurray for fabulous birthday parties.

Sorry to hear it’s been a rough time, . Good luck with the chemo. May you sail through with great bloods, easy veins, few side effects and enough energy to enjoy life.

I have had a super quiet day today. I didn’t leave the house until school pick up time. I spent the day mucking about with scraps of fabric and made two reversible patchwork tote bags. They are rather splendid. If I say so myself
