Well, yesterday was a VERY long day, got up at 5.30am and back to bed around 1am! It wasn't as bad as we all feared though, Prof Radford saw her himself, the worrying node in her chest that has proved so resistant has indeed grown some more, but not as much as we had thought. Caz has now fixed dates with him to start two courses of Gemcitabine, with a PET scan first, and then another after the two courses. So as he is fine with her waiting a while longer, since she has a busy diary with well paid work so she can afford to take time off (the penalties of being self-employed) she will start at the beginning of November, having 3 Gemcitabine infusions a week apart which is one course, then repeated after a rest to allow bloods to pick up again.
It should mean she is finished ready for Christmas, then the scan in January. If all gose well, fine....if not he might add more drug(s) to the Gemcitabine. He was lovely and we found a good bit of humour during the consultation together.
So then I drove Caz home, we had a late lunch (about 2pm) and then she slept for a while, I tried to nap but couldn't.......then some shopping, cleaning, and dinner, lots of chats, then she drove me to the station. Got picked up by Sir well after midnight...yes. trains were both late! grrr!
love and hugs to you all, thank you all for so much support.......
