Mollycat, so good to hear good news! Now celebrate it all as well as you both can! Do keep posting too.....my love and celebratory hugs for you!
Well, folks.....how can I put this.....it was good news and bad news.....the good is that it hasn't progressed as fast as Caz had feared, but the bad news is that, yes, it is progressing, and now will definitely need treatment, Prof wants to try Gemcitabine, on its own, he has always said it might help. If the first one or two treatments don't make a difference, which will be seen by the ever present (and slightly growing again) neck node, then he will search the world for the trial for CD30, think its SGN35, he says it won't be in Germany (he knows Professor Engert well) but she might be able to get it in the USA. Failing that helping, there is a third drug but it is more toxic. If one of these helps then after that, she will definitely need (and now knows she will agree) a donor transplant. This is now not as toxic as it used to be, he says, they have been working hard on it even in the last two or three years.
Prof will see her in late June to just check, then treat on her return from the July tour with Seal, to Eastern Europe, he is happy for her to go, so August is treatment time. He was tickled pink with the CD and his mention in the booklet!
So, all in all she was reassured as she had really been fearing the very worst, bless her, and was so deeply worried and terrified that early this morning I was cuddling a sobbing lass, she had woken after a really scary nightmare. She had taken a sedative after getting up, so tonight will sleep better I hope, I left her curled up on the sofa after lunch.
My love and hugs to you all, with my heartfelt thanks for you being so concerned and supportive.....
Moomy
Helen dear lady, sending you many warm (((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))).
Your lovely girl has been on my mind off and on during the day, praying that there is more treatment out there for her, so pleased that there are other things they can try to get rid of this b****y horrible disease once and for all for her.
Give dear Caz these (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) from me, my heart goes out to her and also to you and the boys.
My love to you all
Maryxxxxx
