    Evening Helen,
So pleased to hear that Caz is feeling a little better, keeping everything crossed that this continues and this skin problem gets sorted out soon, bless her, she must be so fed up with it now....
Your day sounded very intresting, hope that your all tucked up and warm now...with a nice cup of hot choc or something...
    My love and ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))

  • Hi, folks, am sat after dinner all comfy, (maybe we have one of Juls' sofas, or found the supplier of them!) and doing some research for our notes.......both of us reckon we'll need some sort of 'crib' notes and seeing the guide today has given us an idea of how to produce them, showing a picture to Jo Public while refreshing the mind about the facts, names and figures! Crafty, eh!?

Caz's rash (or should I say, the too rapid degeneration of skin layers, not sure actually how best to describe it), is itchy and is still not good, but we think the oil we found has proved to be a good moisturiser. It just doesn't work on her legs very well......we really do need that dermatology appointment. However, she feels chirpier in herself, knowing that she IS getting better, blood-wise!

My love and hugs to you all

Helen and T.............I'm jealous!!!!!  Bletchley Park is on my list of places to visit sometime soon I hope!!!!  What a wonderful place to 'work'...........and volunteering anywhere is such a rewarding experience!!  I volunteered for a short while at a local 'big house' and met a couple of elderly ladies who had been 'in service' there as girls.  They had many interesting (and funny) stories to tell!!!!  Enjoy yourselves..............

I'm pleased to hear that Caz is feeling much chirpier with improving bloods........long may it last!!!  Hope the itchiness and soreness soon subsides for her.......please give her a (((((hug))))) from me and my best wishes too.

Love and ((((((((hugs))))))))))) to you and your long-suffering menfolk too

  • Dot, it is a must ( as a day 'off')  if you end up doing a course at the OU, its not far away! You need to wear 'sensible' shoes as some of the walking is over rutted paths, and also need a good long day with energy to spare, as its well worth while doing a guided tour and then going round again on your own. there are parts that are only open at weekends, such as the Museum of Computers and Computing, which the tour doesn't show you.

It has meant us both doing lots of extra research on the 'net and books too. I only hope we can put together our own version of the tour and make it interesting!

    love and hugs to all

  • Well, it seems I found an oil that works well on most parts of her body, hands and legs are much more difficult, as is her mouth.....hands are sensitive anyway, were last to get irritated and swell and redden up, legs were worst as the rash bled beneath the skin too, and  this was a sign they had told her that platelet transfusion should perhaps have been given, her mouth heals every night but cracks the moment she opens it each morning, at the corners where it is difficult to put anything as it will be ingested.

now I will make you all smile, the oil I found was a blend of organic essential oils for pregnant women to prevent stretch marks! I checked all the ingredient list and it looked promising, and i deduced that if it is absorbed into the skin of a pregnant lady, then it must be non harmful to the unborn baby, therefore it must be pretty good and relatively harm-free. I tried it first, have fairly dry and sensitive skin, found it lovely so told Caz to just try it on one part, she said it felt nice and didn't sting or make her go red, so she gradually began using it on more of her. It has eased and moisturised her front, back, some of her face and upper arms and top of legs, and has slowed the peeling too, but it is still a little angry looking beneath the surface.

We said that by the time she has that dermatology appointment she'll be better, lol! But as this is the result of a trial, then she needs to go still, for the dermatologist to liaise with the Royal Free haematology department about this result, and what helps and doesn't help.

My love and hugs to all who come and read this......

    Dear Helen,

I am so pleased that you have found something to help your dear girl and if it is for pregnant women then it will certainly be safe for her to use.

I do hope that it clears for her soon, appointment or not, as you say she still needs to attend.

Poor love she has suffered greatly by the sound of things, such a corageous young women, give her a hug from me when she arrives home to be with her wonderful parents, bless you both.

My love and gentle (((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))) to you all

Wherever there is a problem a solution can be found....it may have taken some finding but it sounds like you've done it!!!!  Well done Sherlock!!!!!!!

Love and ((((((((hugs))))))))) to you both  Dot xxxxx

  • Jeez, i hope we have found it, but I think there is still some skin trauma there, the dermatology clinic will I think be needed, you can't just disappear skin rashes which were that bad in a couple of days. It worries me a little that there might be longer lasting damage, she certainly will need that Factor 1000 that she uses when she goes in the sun! But I do feel pleased that there is something which moisturises a dry skin like hers and not cause reddening and further itching! So.....Sherlock might be my second name, lol!

Caz will be coming down tomorrow I hope, just for a bit of a break and maybe also to meet up sometime at the weekend with her brother, which will mean a late night for us all, fun and chatter with maybe some music too!

My love and hugs for you all

Helen - It's such a relief that you've found something that will help Caz's rashes. Perhaps you should take a few photos now for the dermatologist to look at in case her rash improves dramatically before her appointment, and the Dermatologist doesn't believe the extent of her reaction.

Enjoy her visit and your upcoming nuclear family reunion!

    Love & Hugs, Mo

  • Hey, Mo, what a terrific idea! I will photograph her when she comes tomorrow, just in case!

love and hugs to you, hope all is going ok in your neck of the woods.....
