We all get good as well as bad news, let's just post the news here....

if i opened a bottle wouldnt stop, so only allow myself a drink or ten when i have friends round. thankfully a good friend is kindly bringing a takeaway tomorrow night to celebrate, and may have a wee drop of the harder stuff.its not often i drop in on other threads cos never know whether to or not, i am a little shy when there a people chatting i have never chatted too, silly huh, but well, thats me really.

Well its great to chat to you now.....I understand about the bottle, I really do! ( My grandfather was an alcoholic, not that I knew him but I do remember the trauma he had caused my Gran and my Dad, they talked about it sometimes while I was a bit young to understand, but then my Dad explained later.) Hope you enjoy that takeaway and your friends company too.....

i stay away from drink, only because i can see how i would like to use it to dull the pain i feel most days. on the day he was cremated got absolutely blotto, with his brother, and it made me forget how bad i felt, so now what i do is only have a drink socially and that way i dont ruin mine or our sons life. i am not critisizing any one who does drink but i have chosen to not lead myself down that path, i have to think of my little boy who needs me more than ever before. how is your daughter moomy, i hope you dont mind me asking? i have read your profile, and dont like to be too nosey and intrusive.

Mel, that's fine, she is ok at the moment and is on tour with Michael Bolton it really is a whirlwind tour, I think tonight she actually has a concert in Copenhagen, then off tomorrow to Helsinki and on.....eventually through Russia, Slovenia and ends in Switzerland on november 17th, then immediately off to bournemouth to work with the Symphony orchestra there for a couple of weeks...... I guess you read the latest medical news....I do understand about the need for dulling your emotions, been there when Caz was really ill and I couldn't do anything, too.....one feels 'impotent'
