    Hi Moomy

I am sending you and Caz healing vibes and all the best wishes I can....

Caz so deserves for this to work for her..

Gentle hugs for you all xxx

  • Rosie, how sweet of you to think about us when you have your own battle going on with this sickening disease......I too am thinking of you and hoping that you are comfortable, and under that warm snuggly pink duvet, its chilly this morning.....

Juls, my dear friend, have been missing you, its sweet of you to come on and send me that message....I so hope that you are coping with all the constant worry and having to challenge for the right follow up for you all.

all is peaceful from Royal Free so far, I'm hard boiling a couple of eggs for her as the only breakfast they offer is toast or cereal, and at 8am too, bless her that is far too early! so she rang her buzzer to ask for toast about 9.30 yesterday! And then said, what, nothing else? no eggs or anything? (she loves an egg for breakfast!)

Our plan today is to go down earlier than yesterday and have a look at some of the shops in Hampstead, there is quite a shopping area there, well above the hospital, then do our half hour which is probably today's amount of time. Not sure if I said on here, her geiger count yesterday was 65, normal is 0.1, so just a bit high! they said if she wanted, they could set the machine to click like on the films, but at that reading I bet it would be a constant noise!

My love and hugs to all

    Morning Helen

Sending much love and strength to you and your Caz, and the rest of your family.  You can easily lose an hour or two around the shops in Hampstead, (am a North London girl originally), although it might be chilly up there!

    Take care

    Leah

  • Leah, I was a student around there, but years ago, and remember even then shopping was good, though I spent more time at Swiss Cottage as college was nearer there. Had digs near Belsize Park so occasionally walked up the hill.

My love and hugs to all

  • We did stop for a short while in Hampstead but didn't do too much shopping, on looking at the sky we continued the journey home quite soon after, just as well as the heavens opened!

visiting today was still limited to 20 minutes, Caz is still fine but might just be showing the first signs of boredom, not getting down to any of the work she had wanted to do! She was tired too as she hadn't slept as well. But she is still in good spirits and the dongle on her computer works well.

Geiger count today was 63, the Nuclear Medicine staff said that was good as it meant the meds were getting to the right place, hopefully. and working. They might scan her later in the week to check that 'hot' areas correspond with the active lymphoma.

my love and hugs to all

    Hi Helen,
So glad that the meds seem to be working for Caz, and that she
is in good spirits, sorry she is so bored though, hope she liked
all her little parcels you did for her.
Its been pouring here all day as well and really cold.

  • My dear friends, I know you are here for me, and for that I thank you all so much.....we are a bit worried of course, who knows what the radiation will be doing long term.....but if it gives her more good times, then who are we to worry? She has done so much since she was diagnosed, it almost feels as if she has seen the world, and the forthcoming CD will help the charity and raise awareness of this wretched disease among the general public and also show that a diagnosis doesn't mean that one should give up, but fight on and live the best life possible. I hope we will hear soon when it will be released.

In the meantime, I'll try not to worry too much but hope instead........

My love and hugs to you all

    Moomy

  • Today's count is down to 52, she has been scanned by the Nuclear Physics folk as well. she still feels fine, but is getting annoyed with one of the ward staff who insists she should be eating hospital food at silly o'clock times for her!

I went up on the train, it was quick and easy, and caught a bus at Euston which goes all the way to just outside the hospital. today I was allowed an hour visiting.

My love and hugs to all
