3 weeks ago I had a full hysterectomy and ovaries removed due to haven’t endometriosis cancer. Am slowly starting to get back to going out on little walks . Today I got my daughter from school for 1st time since I had the surgery, had another woman ask me what’s wrong said oh am still in a bit of pain getting over my recovery. The answer back threw me oh you still on about that you need to get on with it I would have by now . . I couldn’t believe what I was hearing an I just had to walk away and the fact I never said anything has got me wound up so much . Don’t me wrong am not saying I want to argue I’ve not got it in me to do that at all school around kids or other people am just so annoyed, angry that this was her attitude. Am not sure now what to do I just can’t believe she said anything like this anyone got any advice please

  • HI Stitch5

Clearly it was said by someone who has zero understanding of what you have been through and likely zero understanding of what such a procedure does to a person. Someone so ignorant is not worthy of your time.

  • Thank you , I appreciate this am thinking the same now I’ve had time to clam down for a women that is older than me claims to have been through everything the world has to offer has to one up you if you have been through it she’s had it worse

  • James is absolutely right don’t give her any of your precious time! Well done you for managing to pick up your daughter from school 3 weeks after your op. I had a hysterectomy too it’s a major operation you should feel very proud of yourself. Sending hugs

  • Hi

3 weeks is really early days after such major surgery and of course you are still having pain. People can be totally ignorant of things they haven’t experienced. As well as the physical recovery from the surgery you are also dealing with your cancer diagnosis. Just ignore her

  • Sparkling heartthis is amazing so happy you are in remission that’s a hell of a lot to go though sending love and hugs Sparkling heart

  • You are more than welcome.... Take care of yourself

  • So sorry that happened to you. You have done so well to be able to get as far as the school pick up. As well as the physical recovery there's all the emotional rollercoaster of tests etc. that led up to surgery and that takes time to deal with. To do that while being a mum puts you at superhero level for me.
