Hi Malchi
My name is Kenny and I am one of the Cancer Information Nurses here at Macmillan Cancer Support. Thank you for getting in touch.
I have attached a link to spinal cord tumours(SCT) that will give you an insight into this type of cancer. It is important to note that there are many reasons for eyesight problems that are not related to a specific cancer diagnosis. However, with SCT any symptom depends on the position of the tumour in the spinal cord, with the resulting pressure on the spinal cord or nerves leading to various potential symptoms
SCT can cause numbness, weakness, or lack of coordination in the arms and/or legs (usually both sides of the body), as well as bladder or bowel problems. However, they are not usually associated with eyesight problems. If you (or the person affected) are experiencing this symptom, then please bring it to the attention of your/their health care team.
I hope this information is helpful Malchi. If you have any further questions, please get in touch by email, webchat or phone.
Best wishes,
Kenny, Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
