  • Hi, Zoeynick

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forum. My name is Paula, and I am one of the Cancer Information Nurse specialists on the Macmillan support line.

I am so sorry to hear your family are going through such a tough time right now, following your daughters recent diagnosis. I am also sorry to hear she struggles with endometriosis.

Supporting loved ones with cancer can at times feel overwhelming, talking to each other about it can often help. When someone close to you has been diagnosed with cancer, you may find you have many different feelings and it can affect the whole family in different ways because everyone is unique and will respond differently.

If your daughter is in hospital, you can talk to her team for clarity and ask any of the questions you may have. If she is at home and experiencing any new worse or change in a symptom, you must seek medical assessment from her team, GP or out of hours helpline. If you are unable to do this, you can call 111 or for emergencies it would be 999.  Her cancer team or GP are the right people to help manage her symptoms, including the vomiting and insomnia and make her more comfortable and pain free. If these symptoms are not managed then please seek an assessment today from either the hospital team, GP or 111.

If you have any further queries, it may help you to give us a call and speak to the nurses here on the Macmillan Support line for any further information or support. You can call us on 0808 808 0000. The Macmillan support line is open 7 days a week from 8am till 8pm.  I hope this helps.

    Take care

    Paula
