Was diagnosed with NHL 12 months ago, have been burying me head in the sand by not going to my oncology appointments, i don’t understand watch & wait why carnt they get this thing out of me, i feel like a ticking time bomb please help.

We were told mum had 5 month with lung cancer but after more tests they offered radiotherapy. Originally we were told nothing could be done so now she has been told this will help she’s stage 3 has anyone any idea how much more time this gives
I’m 31, found a lump in left breast had an ultrasound then they said needed to do biopsy. The lady said it’s likely to be fibrous but they like to prove these things.. is this true? Am I worrying fo no reason? I have to wait 10 days for the results.
