Hair Dye is it safe

Has anyone dyed their hair, whilst on chemotherapy? I'm on cycle 3 of 12 sessions of 5FU, my hair has started to thin, the info I've received from oncologist said this treatment doesn't result in hair loss. Would like to dye the grey regrowth.
