  • Hi Zoe

You’ve often been in my thoughts and I’m glad to see you back here.  Your boy was doing really well last time we spoke and as he’s young and very fit I am sure he will be absolutely fine.  Only surgeons at the top of their field perform this surgery so he will be in expert hands.  His recovery will be similar to that of an oesophagectomy in terms of dieatary issues and other side effects such as dumping syndrome, so if you need any support and info on this I’ll be happy to help.  I wish you and your boy all the very best and Good Luck for next Tuesday.

Stay strong and focussed on your boy’s recovery.

    Love  Crystal xx

Hi, just a little update on Joes progress.  Hes doing really well, op was done much quicker than expected (4 hrs, think that must be a record) and bar a collapsed lung (now sorted) and cabin fever (not sorted) all is going to plan.  Histology is back today though whether they decide to give us any news is anyones guess, im afraid communication remains a major issue.  Nasogastric tube is out today and Joe gets to eat his first mouthful so im expecting smiles all round when I get to the hospital this evening.  Having a few tears today, no idea why, relief, stress?  Just cant wait to have him home again.
