JUNE 7TH - STUPID PETER! (graphic pics)

1 minute read time.

Hi...

7am this morning has the dressing changed. it had been a really bad weekend for dressings all the way back from thursday. tubigrip had pushed the dressing down and all the fucibet out of the  wound. also there were pressure wounds and a nasty blister under one of the bigger pieces of micropore. so today we decided that less was more so the leg did not have a bulge where there would is. today was cooler too so the leg wasnt so hot and everything seemed to stay in place. so this morning was the routine of prontosan soak, wash and grease the lower leg. fucibet cream, 2x jelonet, xupad, k-band and double tubigrip. a duoderm pad dressing was put on the blister to help it heal and give a barrier between skin and tubigrip.

on a sorer note... i was washing in the bathroom this morning as i am off showers again and put my foot up on the edge of the bath to dry myself, missed and kicked the edge of the bath. you can see the result below.  during the day the toe has got more painful, but its only a bad bruise and it will go in a few days. i am wearing a bag of frozen peas on it at the moment!

have a good evening

That toe looks painful! I hate banging my toes too!  I once shut one of my toes in the door as I was closing it - I wanted to fall to the floor and cry - I couldn't put a shoe on for about 3 days!  On a more important not your wound does look better, slowly but sure and what a good idea you had photographing the stages of care.  Sometimes we think things are never going to get better and then you look behind at the past pics and, yes, they are even if very slowly.  ps. can't stand cheesy toes, especially my husband's, I prefer my smellydog to them.  Take care, Ann xxx

Hi, oh Peter that toe look painful - hope its not to uncomfortable.  Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your leg I am so lucky and seemed to have come through my WLE with no problems except the discomfort.  I have had no infections or pain to speak of at all.  I am now off all painkillers which is great.  My main problem has been my donor site which is still so tender and 'stingey' (if thats a word!!).  It gives me so much jip and even tho I have started to drive a bit it makes it really sore!! How is yours?? I only have a pad and then my shower proof dressing over my WLE now with a tubigrip on when i go out for support mainly because I have lost some of my muscle and all the nerves in the back of my leg.  No Inadine dressings required now - I am so lucky hopefully yours will right itself really soon - let me know how you getting on ...

Bet you turned the air blue with that didnt you??? I think the wound looks better but by the sounds of it having some of it cut away will probably help loads.  It should in theory speed up the heeling even further.

    All the best Chrissi xx
