What now?

Less than one minute read time.

hi well i'm still sitting waiting think its all i've done over the last 2 and a bit weeks, had my call yesterday from my cancer nurse who said that she was away to see the oncologist who would get intouch with me, (they had the MDT meeting yest) i asked her how long it would all take as i really want to get this whole process started, all she said was soon. I'm banging my head off the bloomin walls here. i have done my house up got all my christmas shopping done, there really isnt anything else i can do to keep me amused. How long does it normally take? i know each person is different all i want is a date for something so i can get my head ready for it. i'm so frustrated.

Hope everyone is feeling good

Love

  • Hi Sarah .... all I can offer is my experience and that is the specialist nurses sit in on the mdt meeting so are aware of the outcome, so if its appropriate they may be able to update you. However they may want to do more tests and then discuss treatment or options with you. Waiting is the hardest bit and so long as I know dates for meetings I am fine. when I know something is dragging I tend to phone and sort it out. If your unhappy then ring the nurse again and see what you can find out or share your concern, she may be able to quicken things up, as each of us are different so are consultants and hospitals.

hope all goes well for you.

    best wishes

    Dear Sarah,

I think its a bit unfair you havent got an appointment to be told what they have decided about you and your treatment plan etc. They would surely have an idea what they intend to do by now therefore you should be told asap. I think John has the best advice about calling the nurse again, it wont hurt and it might just hurry them up a bit.

    All the best

    Hi Sarah,

This waiting is the pits. I should have found out today the results from my mastectomy and when chemo is likely to start but once again the results were not ready so have to wait another week. I have received an appointment thru the post today for 9 oclock next Thursday so at least it is first thing in the morning. Like Chris and John I think you should ring them and gee them up its not them sitting waiting and it cant hurt.

    take care love Terri xxx
