Good news - in the circumstances

Less than one minute read time.
Well I had the core biopsy last night as well as a chest xray. The xray was clear. I should get the results of the biopsy by the end of the week, but the consultant is pretty sure it is a soft tissue sarcoma in the blood vessels. The good news is that is has been so difficult to get a confirmed diagnosis because it is low grade in the early stages. Apparently its unusual to see it in the early stages because either the symptoms havent manifested themselves or they have been ignored or antibiotics are prescribed for an infection first. So this is good. Not soon enough to save the breast but it is unlikely to have spread yet. I've told my daughters now (33 and 36) as you can guess they were very upset and cross that I hadn't told them before. I'm going to introduce one of them to this site tomorrow so she can gain some comfort.

Hope they will join you on here, as Alison says.  I tried a local Gynaecological Cancer Support Group, but only a few people turned up.  I was puzzled until I found out that there had been a schism, with some women not wanting men present.  Although I can understand that view, it IS the whole family who is affected, and everyone needs some support.  I'm sure lots of people will be able to answer any questions your daughters may have, but in the meantime, Sharry, I want to wish you all the very best with your treatment.  xxx Penny

    Hi Debbie

thanks for your kind thoughts. I'm sure once my daughters have got over the shock they will come on here and discover for themselves what a help and comfort this site can be.

Sometimes I think this is all that keeps me going.

    kindest regards
