(8) Think twice ....

…... Or face the wrath of the Bad Fairy!!

Yes it’s December and that means Christmas (no grumbling at the back there please!). Wednesday saw me being chauffeured to the hospital, nothing exciting just some Bonio meds (Bisphosphonates) and I couldn’t believe how many houses had their Christmas trees set up in their front windows.

Now call me a scrooge if you must but isn't it a bit early? Particularly when you think of the disastrous consequences of having a Christmas tree up in a “normal” household for about four weeks.

Cats ….cats just can’t help tinkering with the baubles. Nothing wrong with that expect when the baubles part company with the tree and are only discovered on a dark and chilly stagger to the loo in the early hours of the morning!

Dogs …that chase tails always seem to crash into the recently decorated tree. All of that hard work making the tree look like it should be photographed for “Homes and Gardens” and now it would look quite at home on the cover of a “Scrapheap Challenge” magazine! You can’t put chocolates on the tree either. Well I suppose you could if you had well behaved dogs. Three Labradors that can smell food anywhere within five miles of their nose ends and chocolates are a definite no no.

For the house proud among us (I’m allergic to house work so exclude myself from this), doesn’t a Christmas tree gather lots of dust? Do you vacuum it or swish a feather duster through its branches occasionally?

Finally, the wrath of the Bad Fairy. If you’re in the treetop club that puts a fairy on top of your tree, please, this year, take particular care how you place her on that little branch. Rumours on the fairy grapevine are hinting at a revolt. Now you don’t want to come downstairs and find a bad fairy stomping on your baubles in her Dr. Martens do you? So ….nice and gently does it!!!

    You made me smile

My son in law has a picture of me looking miserable eating my Xmas Dinner with my "Bah Humbug" hat on.

If you are the "bad fairy" I am the "miserable not so now fat fairy"

Oh dear! What am I going to do Bad Fairy, you've not only made me feel guilty,  you've scared the hell out of me too.  My xmas tree fairy's skirt goes up behind her head...but she has a bare bum...got to think fast..if I put a tiny cushion in between her little pink bottie and the branch, will you promise not to come round in your Doc. Martens to crush me baubles.

We have not got enough power points for all our Christmas decorations. We have tried battery driven led lights, but run out of power before Santa comes.

Has any one a solution to this problem apart from rewiring our home, or cascading distribution boards.

Both our cats are facinated by Christmas and love playing with baubles at the bottom of the tree. Also they are fond of pulling the skirt surrounding tree

Tony, a solution to your light problems .... don't have so many ;-)

Blue Phoenix ... I think a little cushion would be a good idea, maybe a little hot water bottle too. It gets drafty on top of a tree you know!!

Thank you all for your comments ... I'm now being nagged to find our tree! No rest for the wicked!!

Well Bad Fairy, i have had my homes

and garden tree up since 15th november.

Twinkling lights on my curtains and my

fireplace looks a dream with holly and

mistletoe that i picked myself , it was

worth getting stuck in the muddy fields

with the sheep looking at me oddley with

the rain falling down, but it was great fun.

I love the build up to Christmas, wrapping

    presents decorating the tree, baking

minced pies, everything. My dog Suzi

loves Christmas as well, nose in the

presents to find where her prezzies are.

And all the excitment that goes with the

one time in the year when people in the

shops give you a warm greeting,[or was

i dreaming that bit] lol.And the first xmas

in my new country and new home.

HO HO HO I LOVE CHRISTMAS.

    With Love Lucy Lee. xxx

PS. Bad Fairy i have Father Christmas

on top of my tree, with lights under his

bum, my fairy couldn,t stand it any longer.lol. x
