My husband was told in December he had stomach cancer, and it was in operable, but after 9 weeks of chemo the tumor had shrunk so much surgery went ahead on the 19th April 2010. The operation went well, but he suffered respiratory failure due to a chest infection and taken to intensive care. After 10 very hard days he went back to high dependency ward waiting to have a brocoscopy to clear the infection. This was done 154th May 2010 and after 6 hours was back in ICU ventelated and sedated. He has just left ICU after 26 days.
We have since been told that the cancer was only in the stomach and all is okay.
If you read this , and are affected by stomach cance please be strong and never give up.
