A little bit of normal

A little bit of normal

The worst of the side effects of my last chemo are now well and truly over and done with and it's 2 weeks until surgery so I have the chance to feel normal again. On the positive side, I will be released from the “pregnancy diet” in a few days and can eat everything without having to worry about salmonella and my weak immune system, on the negative side, I'll also be allowed to pick up the dog poo again.

Covid cases in the UK have been rapidly increasing recently and lockdown restrictions have been removed. There is no doubt that I am cautious around what I do when I am out. I am trying to keep to outdoor events, I wear a mask, use hand sanitizer religiously and I am not afraid to tell someone if I feel they are too close to me.  My fear right now is a delay to surgery…..

Thinking back over my chemo treatment, in many ways I have just gotten on and managed and no one would really know what I am going through. In fact I am sure most of my colleagues (specifically the male ones) have actually forgotten as I have missed very little time from work and have managed around the various side effects.   I hope the worst is over now, let's see what the surgery brings!

  • Wish I could give you the biggest hug for completing your chemo! What a milestone. Rightfully so the celebration with that glass of wine. (I would have played on avoiding the dog poo a bit longer hahaha) can feel you are getting back to normal...amazing!
