back pain

1 minute read time.

I was just wondering...... before my breast cancer in 2007 I had a lot of lower back pain so just put it down to my arthritis.  However, its now 2011 and I am taking co-codamon, tramadol, amytriptyline, zopiclone, diclofenac - just to help with the lower back pain.  I have had a spinal injection at Barts but it didn't work so am awaiting another one.  I have two disc degenerations and a partial prolapse.  When I asked my surgeon what could be done for the pain he said 'nothing, just another injection'.  Thankfully, I was advised there was nothing untoward i.e. cancer spread.  Anyway, does anyone here suffer such bad back after treatment for breast cancer?  I know I only one FEC because nearly died from infection which caused terrible pain to the whole of my back at the time.  If there is anyone out there who suffers bad back after cancer would like to know how you deal with it.  Just for desserts I'm going to have reconstruction soon and wonder whether I'm putting too much strain on myself, especially as the surgery is 8 hours long - DIEP flap/tummy tuck - yippee!.  Keep well everyone and thanks for all your support - especially when we are all in the same boat.  Ann x
