DIAGNOSED BREAST CANCER LAST WEEK - FEEL SO ALONE AND FRIGHTENED.

Less than one minute read time.
Diagnosed last week with breast cancer. Biopsy after biopsy and now more as I found a lump on the other breast which was not found with either mammogram or ultrasound. Also waiting for MRI scan appointment. I am so frightened, and feel totally alone. Unable to cope. Please help me. Maralyn (alias Negative Nellie)

  • Sorry about your diagnosis. Welcome to the site.

Of course you are frightened. We all were when we first heard the news.

My breast cancer was not found by mammogram or ultrasound and there was no lump just a slight change in my nipple of left breast. Diagnosed as lobular cancer.

Had to have bone scan and CT scan before surgery. Just wanted the damn thing out of my body.

Had mastectomy 2 months after diagnosis then chemo and radiotherapy which finished last November.

You are not alone. You have lots and lots of friends now on ths site and we are always here for you.

Hope you do not have to wait too long for MRI scan.

    Love Sue x x x

Hi  my name is Chris.  I live in Billericay, Essex.  What an awful journey for all of us.  I don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing belonging to this site.  I just can't believe that this is happening to me.  I'm quite a positive person, never have any aches or pains, but this things has devastated me. But its good to know what there is someone going through the same thing.  I've so much to look forward to, a new grand child, No. 5.  My daughter is devastated, but keeps laughing it all off.  I wish I could.  Anyway, please get inn touch.  If you would like to talk, my No. is.  I don't know if you're supposed to give this out, but its 01277 624890.  I put a notice in my local newsagent stating that I have BC and if theres anyone out there in a similar situation, please get in touch.  Anyway, i've had two replies so far, and they've both been from people much younger than me, and they've come through the other end, so lets hope we will be in the same.

    Hi,

I replied to your e-mail to me yesterday Chris, but somehow it did not appear..  Thank you for contacting me

Mine is also lobular cancer, and like Nellie, I too feel so alone.

I have wonderful support from my friends and family, and am being very positive. I had a mastectomy 10 days ago

still waiting for the histology but will have to have chemo and possibly radiotherapy.  How long will it take as my goal is my youngest son's wedding in Oz next year

It is good to chat.  and to know that you understand

I am married, have three sons  and two grandchildren

My husband has also had surgery for bowel cancer

and I was diagnosed while he was in hospital.  Can't believe this is happening to us.

How are you doing now?  Hope you're feeling better than I am.  Still can't thinking of anything else at the moment.  Seeing the consultant on Monday, and dreading the outcome, but hopefully things will get better.
