I have just been diagnosed with prostate cancer. My bone scan is fine and I await the MRI to see if there is any local spread. I'm a retired GP and Christian. One problem is that I know too much and remember all the bad things with my patients, but I know that God has sent this my way for a purpose and that things will work out in His will. So far I'm on an anti-androgen and await the Zoladex injection on Monday. I also used to do hypnotherapy and am currently doing a visualization of my prostate (and any spread around it) as a ping pong ball that I wrap in duck tape. I have located that in a room deep in my subconscious and go and check that it is going on all the time by popping in from time to time. The biopsies enable me to feel where the location is and I can feel action by a warm feeling there when I do the visualization. I also visualize Jesus Christ inside killing the bad cells off, but clearly that addition is a personal thing.
I have faith that this working and no idea if it would for anyone else, but in the past have helped a number of my patients take back some control over what is a frightening problem.
