I OBJECT

Less than one minute read time.
Admins, I object. I want this seen publicly; I do not want to cause difficulties on the site, so I will refrain from mentioning names. I object with the same intensity that I objected to the bazooka to crack a nut. There must be a different way to solve this problem. Admins, I am grateful for all you have done and all the work you have put in. I am sure you can find a satisfactory solution without this drastic measure. Pat

Having been too busy to spend any time onsite it has come as quite a suprise to find that Seanty has been banned. Therefore I do not know what the "offence" was that led to this action being taken, and I would dearly like to read the specific posts that were involved.

Seanty's posts did tend to be controversial some of the time, but I have always found them to make very worthwhile reading and I most certainly agreed with him over his stands on quackery and charlatans who appear to prey on people desperately clutching at straws.

He had said on a few occasions that his background was in the scientific and engineering areas, at times I felt that this may well have been a factor in him taking a somewhat cold and impersonal attitude in dealing with others, and to some extent he made enemies unnecessarily. But (without fully knowing the facts) it would seem that his detractors have done everyone on this site an immense disservice by having him removed from membership.

When I go to see my consultant I expect to hear the same scientific and medical information from him that Seanty has researched and brought to attention. I certainly wouldn't expect to be told to try some of the (ridicoulous) treatments and therapies that abound.

I am disappointed, to say the least, that we seem to have a community that cannot allow any dissenting voices and I wonder if it is still 1984 in some peoples minds.

Sean you will be sadly missed by this member at least.

Bren, there seems to be more to this than just dissenting voices. I suggest you find time to chat with James and Thomas tomorrow. I agree that it is a great pity that he cannot post his good info. But sometimes the baby goes with the bathwater!
