moles forming scabs

Less than one minute read time.
Hi everyone, I have quite a few moles all over my body but in the last few days ive noticed that 3 moles which are a medium brown colour on my arm have started to form very dark brown scabs on them for no reason. 2 moles are near my elbow and the other is on my wrist and they are only small about 4mm max wide and they are starting to raise up slightly with the scabs forming. I havent had any other changes happen to them like itching or anything like that, just the scabs. Could anyone advise me if I should see my doctor about these? I was planning to keep an eye on them and then see my doctor in a couple of weeks if they havent gone back to normal. thanks Lynsey

As a rule of thumb, any changes in the appearance or activity of an existing mole should be examined by a physician to rule out the possibility of malignancy.  That said, I think it's quite reasonable to wait a couple of weeks to see if the problem resolves by itself.

But it costs nothing to see your GP so why not go and get peace of mind? Also it might be worth looking at Seanty's blog on www.mymalignantmelanoma.com/seantyblog.html

as he is an MM sufferer and has researched a lot.

    Keep smiling

Im probably going to wait about a week and see what happens to them.  Ive recently come back from a trip to paris where I was using an indoor swimming pool often and its really gave me bad dry skin patches from the chlorine so my husband was wondering if it could be something to do with that thats made them form scabs, but it also seems strange that the 3 moles have had these changes at the same time.

    thanks

Why wait?  Go.  If it's nothing, then good, it was nothing.  Go.
